The government has drafted a proposal which would make it compulsory for maths and science graduates to undergo community service.
The graduates would need to teach these particular subjects at schools in an effort to improve the quality of teachers at local schools. The graduates will be drafted from state-funded universities into a compulsory period of teaching following their graduation.
