Competition Commission denies allegations of corruption
Commissioner at Competition Commission, Tembinkosi Bonakele has denied allegations of corruption that have been leveled against the institution.
DA MP and economic development spokesman Michael Cardo last week wrote to Economic Development Minister Ebrahim Patel requesting the establishment of a commission of inquiry.
The Financial Mail reported that the commission had been accused of lying to obtain search warrants, failing to abide by its own rules, and ignoring legal precedent in the high-stakes foreign exchange case against 23 banks.
Bonakele says the DA has issues against the two cases they are pursuing against the banks as well as the fats and oil industry.
