[LISTEN] Sanco condemns Malema's state capture utterances against Motsepe

The South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) has condemned comments made by Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema, accusing business mogul and President Cyril Ramaphosa's brother-in-law, Patrice Motsepe of leading another state capture.

Addressing crowds at his party's birthday celebrations on Saturday, Malema warned Motsepe to know his place and to stay away from government.

Malema accused Motsepe of using family ties to Ramaphosa and Energy Minister Jeff Radebe to benefit from IPP deals.

Sanco spokesperson Jabu Mahlangu has says there is no proof of any corrupt dealings from Motsepe.

Patrice Motsepe has been in our spaces ever since the times of Madiba, Zuma's time and during this periods. I guess more than anything else he has been much more present out there, he has been to the outskirts of this country doing what most business people are not doing, through his foundation

Jabu Mahlangu, Sanco spokesperson

Historically he has never been fingered in any irregularities, in any corruption or tenders with the state that I know of.

Jabu Mahlangu, Sanco spokesperson

Mahlangu says Malema must lead honestly and appropriately.

We expect of our leaders to raise arguments that are authentic and valuable as opposed to throwing names.
