Cycling launches its own department in the Western Cape Government

A new depart has been added to the Western Cape Department of Economic Opportunities called the Department of Cycling Tourism.

The new division, which will be headed by Quintin Smith as the deputy director for The Department of Cycle Tourism will dedicate itself to growing cycling activities in the province.

We're looking to position the Western Cape as the cycling capital of Africa.

He says the Western Cape attracts over billions in revenue from the cycling industry, collectively through the cycling events hosted in the province annually.
