South Africans expected to break emigration record this year

South Africans are expected to break their own emigration record this year, according to experts.

UK visa solutions experts, Move Up, say that they’ve seen a 22% increase in South Africans interested in relocating to the United Kingdom (UK) over the past two years.

Legal and Financial manager at Financial Emigration Jonty Leon says there has been a huge increase in citizens deciding to leave the country after last year's announcement by Parliament that there would be a change in tax laws.

He says other contributing factors include education, lack of job opportunities and more.

The political instability. Looking at the recent comments on land expropriation without compensation, that is all major factors which are pushing South Africans to leave South Africa.

Leon says the country is losing a large number of highly skilled people.

We are having to basically import people from within Africa and all over the world to try and balance that out but I don't think we are doing it successfully.

What we have noticed in our own business is that many are going to the UAE just because of the high pay and better job opportunities.
