Author of The land is ours, Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi says when it was announced that there will be a public hearing into Section 25 amendments most people thought it was a positive ste.

Advocate Ngcukaitobi says it is sensible to test the views of the public on amending Section 25 which will allow for land expropriation without compensation.

Many of us thought it was a sensible thing to test the views of the public because there is not only confusion but misperceptions about what people want.

Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi, Author 'The land is ours'

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa made an announcement late on Tuesday last week that the ruling party will move to amend the Constitution to allow for expropriation of land without compensation.

I agree. A dialogue is inevitable, subsequent to the public participation process. It’s even more inevitable now that the ANC has jumped the gun and made this premature announcement instead of allowing the public participation process to be exhausted.
