Reports say senior Zimbabwean opposition Movement for Democratic Change Alliance (MDC-A) figure Tendai Biti was arrested as he tried to flee to neighbouring Zambia to seek asylum on Wednesday.
He allegedly faces charges for inciting violence over the disputed result of last week’s elections.
Speaking to Clement Manyathela on The Midday Report Political analyst Richard Mahomva says it was indicated that Biti was supposed to present himself to the police.
With regards to allegations of inciting violence which really is a matter that needs to be affirmed through the right legal channels.— Richard Mahomva, Political Analyst
That is issue number one and of late he has also not been in the public scene with issues also raising that his family has been constantly facing attacks from unknown individuals.— Richard Mahomva, Political Analyst
