[LISTEN] Lexi's Healthy Eatery is changing the game with their plant-based grub

In a new feature on the #WeekendBreakfast, Phemelo Motene chats to chef and owner of Lexi's Healthy Eatery, Lexi Monzeglio about sustainable living and a plant-based diet.

Monzeglio says that she launched the eatery because she was trying to establish a sustainable approach towards eating.

Being 100% sustainable in South Africa is near impossible adds Monzeglio.

She says that if you don't have enough money and time then sustainability starts to become a huge issue.

A plant-based lifestyle is probably one of the most sustainable ways to live says the chef.

If you reduce your meat-intake by one day a week, you're already reducing your water consumption and benefiting the environment she adds.

I've been following a plant-based lifestyle for a couple of years now, and the gap was just so obvious.

Monzeglio says that there are very few vegan-friendly places with options.

She adds that Vegan has become a buzzword in 2018.

One of my biggest things about life is that as soon as you're feeling deprived - you're not doing it right.
