'President must reprimand police minister for failing to protect whistleblowers'
The Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane says President Cyril Ramaphosa should reprimand the Minister of Police Bheki Cele for failing to implement recommendations in protecting a pair of whistleblowers in the Sandiso Magaqa murder.
Mkhwebane says the following:
We engaged the minister several times to implement and assist in dealing with the matter but I think it fell on deaf ears.Busisiwe Mkhwebane, Public Protector

My recommendation is that the President should reprimand the minister of police. Firstly, this is a lapse in judgement because this matter is very critical.Busisiwe Mkhwebane, Public Protector
Thabiso Zulu, an ANC member, anti-corruption activist and friend of Magaqa, and Les Stuta, an official at Harry Gwala Municipality, were responsible for blowing the lid on the alleged reasons behind the assassination of former ANC youth league secretary-general Sindiso Magaqa.
