The Naked Scientist Dr Chris Smith answers all scientific questions callers have and who came up with the names of the planets.

Have you ever wondered why your voice gets slower and shaky when you get older?

Could be the effects of old age or there is some scientific explanation?

Well, Dr Chris Smith popularly known as the Naked Scientist says as you age, all other parts of your body also age including your vocal cords.

Not everything improves with age.

Dr Chris Smith, Naked Scientist

As we get older, we all become a bit saggier, a bit more wrinkly and a bit shakier. As you get older you may find that the muscles you use to control your vocal cords weaken a bit. The nerve supply to them weakens a bit so they are not as easily controllable as they once were.

Dr Chris Smith, Naked Scientist

As you age, you might spend less talking.

The Naked Scientist also answered various questions from dark matter to why the earth is named the earth...
