Lookout for the new ticketing system for the Cape Town Sevens

Rugby fans will be delighted to know that there is a new ticketing system for the Cape Town Sevens designed to get dedicated fans to the event while taking the stress out of the sales day rush.

Usually, the Sevens tickets are sold out within minutes but this year SA rugby has decided to do things a bit differently.

SA Rugby's spokesperson, Andy Colquhoun says fans will have to register to be on either a loyalty programme, which will cost them an extra R75 or enter a free lottery system.

What we've done is that we have opened a two weeks window to register either for a loyalty program or a lottery. The lottery is pretty straightforward, your name goes into a hat, there's a random draw and if your name comes out you have yourself a ticket.

Andy Colquhoun, SA Rugby's spokesperson

To get a ticket to Cape Town Sevens you log on to www.capetown7s.com and choose between the loyalty programme and the free lottery system.

The window is open from now till the September 12. A week later links will be sent to everyone who may then go ahead and pay for their tickets.
