The acting director-general of GCIS, Phumla Williams gave her testimony at the Zondo Commission of inquiry into state capture at Parktown in Johannesburg.

Breakfast Show Host Bongani Bingwa says Pumla Williams even during the apartheid years, stood her ground.

And for her troubles she wasn't not only tortured, she was imprisoned for a number of years.

He adds that Williams now holds a masters degree in public administration and is exactly the kind of civil servant we want.

He says she is the kind of person who didn't just rely on her struggle credentials but was qualified to do the job that she does.
