'There have been two reported incidents of attempted arson'

The safety of a number of buildings has been called into question, this includes the Civitas building in Pretoria which houses the Health Department.

Workers have complained and taken the matter to court and a media conference was held to discuss all that is happening in that building.

Speaking to Ray White on The Midday Report, Executive at the Department of Public Works Peter Chiapasco says they are in a process of renovating the building.

Over the last two, three days there have been two reported incidents of arson, a fire in the third level basement in the refuse area.

And yesterday afternoon a fire in the kitchenette if you like, on the fourteen floor.

He adds that these are two of the incidents that have occurred over a period of time.
