'I'm very excited to reintroduce myself to the people' - Asanda Mqiki, musician

Jazz vocalist, Asanda Mqiki chats to #WeekendBreakfast host Africa Melane, about the challenges she faced in the conceptualisation of her first debut album.

Mqiki says that she's very excited to reintroduce herself to the people.

She adds that putting the album together was challenging because she's influenced by an array of genres.

Putting an album together is not easy with regards to finances.

Mqiki says that she decided to explore her musical freedom.

I use to write lyrics, then play different sounds with the words I'd written she adds.

Growing up, my father would play each and every genre so I was interested in these sounds.
