Local movie, 'Die Ellen Pakkies Storie', gets noticed for all the right reasons

In the movie review, producer of 'Die Ellen Pakkies Storie', Paulo Areal chats about the support they've received from making the movie.

Areal says that they've had some fantastic support from the community.

We've sold out at various cinemas - so we're absolutely thrilled with the support so far she adds.

Areal says that she's had her run-ins with substance abuse, and that's where her interest stemmed from.

When I first met Ellen, within 15 minutes, I couldn't reconcile how such a lovely mother could commit such an act (murdering her son).

Paulo Areal, producer of 'Die Ellen Pakkies Storie'

We got the right people, at the right time. Everyone's schedule opened up. Everything we wanted happened... The community opened their arms to us. Even the drug dealers would go, it's okay, you can tell Auntie Ellen's story.
