AfriForum says its willing to meet with the EFF to discuss the land issue

AfriForum's Deputy CEO Ernst Roets says while they have not received a formal meeting invitation from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), they are open to meeting with the party.

Last week EFF leader Julius Malema made reference to the organisation saying perhaps it is time to 'engage' the group.

While Roets is not sure what Malema may have meant by the tweet, he says they are willing to sit around the table and talk.

We are always open for discussion. We haven't particular invited the EFF to a meeting because judging from what the EFF is saying in media and press conferences, it appears to is they are not interested in dialogue.

Ernst Roets, AfriForum Deputy CEO

It appears as if their message is more to try and intimidate through public statements and I don't think their intentions is to have dialogue but if that is the case, we would be grateful and certainly engage.
