Will the marriage between AfriForum and Lekota work?

Leader of Congress of the People (Cope) Mosiuoa Lekota on Monday announced in a joint press conference with Afrikaner rights group AfriForum that the two organisations would be working together to fight expropriation of land without compensation.

Listeners on the Eusebius McKaiser Show weighed in on the joint press conference.

Micheal, a caller says people understand why Lekota would join forces with AfriForum because he has farms, so he doesn't want to lose his land.

He has wine farms, so maybe he is scared that those farms are going to be expropriated.

Micheal, caller

Another caller named Michael says the conference that was held looked weird.

Terror Lekota said that just like they were going around the world to fight apartheid, they are going to join forces and speak about expropriation without compensation to the world.

Michael, another caller

He adds that he doesn't understand Lekota's stance on the matter.

As a black person, he is supposed to benefit from expropriation, I think he is just killing his own party.

Michael, another caller

Mike says Lekota has completely lost it.

I think the guy is so desperate that he can go to that extent of comparing this land thing to apartheid.

Mike, caller

He adds that he believes Lekota's days as a politician are numbered.
