Sara-Jayne King's memoir shortlisted for prestigious literary prize

Author and CapeTalk's very own, Sara-Jayne King, has been acknowledged for her moving memoir, Killing Karoline.

Killing Karoline has made it to the shortlist for the 2017 University of Johannesburg Prizes for South African Writing in English.

Sara-Jayne's best-seller has been nominated for the debut prize.

According to the Johannesburg Review of Books, Killing Karoline is the only autobiographical book to make the cut among a shortlist dominated by novels.

The radio host says she's humbled by the support that she has received since her book was published.

It is an honour to be recognized along with a group of incredible South African authors. The support I’ve received, since the book was published, has been overwhelming. I am humbled.

Sara-Jayne's publisher, Melinda Ferguson, says Killing Karoline is only up against one other book in her category.
