The memorial service of three firefighters who lost their lives last week while trying to extinguish the Bank of Lisbon building fire is underway.
Eyewitness News reporter Mia Lindeque says it was an emotional scene when the firefighters visited the building to lay flowers.
She says the firefighters say they never imagined they would lose three of their colleagues at the same time.

It was the first time some of the family members went to the scene, they say they wanted to get closure.— Mia Lindeque, EWN reporter
It has since emerged that building failed to meet safety standards and its since been evacuated.
