A caller named David on the Eusebius McKaiser Show discusses whether people should trust the media or not.
The discussion comes after protestors held placards at the launch of investigative journalist Stephan Hofstatter’s book ‘Licence To Loot - How The Plunder Of Eskom And Other Parastatals Almost Sank South Africa’ at Love Books in Melville on Thursday.
The Sunday Times previously admitted the newspaper made several errors in its reporting on the National Research Group (which was dubbed the 'rogue unit') within Sars.
David, a caller says he was one of the protestors at the book launch, and when he asked Hofstatter a number of questions he avoided answers and that was very upsetting to him.
Piet Richer made a very emotional plea to him and basically explaining what he did and the damage he caused. And his response was to completely evade responsibility and say no there were nine other people involved but wasn't willing to talk about who they were.— David, caller
David adds that Hostatter didn't take responsibility for what he did and how can anyone have any faith in what he writes.
