2018 Cape Town Marathon
The Cape Town Marathon will be held on Sunday, 23 September.

The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is set to take place on Sunday, 23 September.

The 2018 line-up is said to be the deepest entry field to date.

Johan Maytham spoke to Cape Town Marathon ambassador Elana van Zyl to find out how fast the race is and what it takes to win.

Cape Town Marathon is a fast race, it is a fast course, we have a course record of 2:08:41 which I do believe there is strong chance this year that it can be broken.

Elana van Zyl , Cape Town Marathon ambassador

Obviously for record attempts you need some perfect weather and we are always hoping that the mother city will play her part.
