Gabi Lowe: Jenna was a gift

Jenna Lowe, a 20-year-old from Cape Town, who was diagnosed with a rare lung disease, passed away this week.

Diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension, a degenerative and life-threatening condition at 17, Lowe’s health deteriorated to a point where she was actively listed for a double lung transplant.

By the age of 19, it became clear that she needed a lung transplant if she was going to make it to her 21st birthday.

Lowe first became a well-known name when she started a campaign called ‘Get Me to 21’, aimed at finding a donor.

Gabi Lowe has described her daughter as a gift, and spoke to John to honour her legacy
