Patricia de Lille plans to sue those she says are behind a plot to defame her and will disclose cases against DA members later on.

Outgoing Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille says she will handle legal action against her detractors within the DA 'one at a time'.

De Lille is bringing charges of defamation against Johannesburg businessman, Anthony Faul, who accused her of corruption earlier this year.

In February‚ the DA apparently approached the police with an affidavit it had received from Faul.

However, the NPA has dropped the case and decided not to pursue the bribery allegations against De Lille, vindicating her in the matter.

She says the allegations made by Faul were patently false and a vicious attack on her name and reputation.

De Lille plans to sue those she believes are behind a plot to defame her. She says she will unveil cases against other DA members in due course.

She reveals that she has invested more than R500 000 of her own money into three legal cases that she has won so far.

[She did not release the name of the other DA members] because it's my decision. I'm dealing with them one at a time. I will unveil other names later on.

Patricia de Lille, Cape Town Mayor

The decision was made not institute any prosecutions against me, therefore I've instructed my lawyers to pursue a defamation case.

Patricia de Lille, Cape Town Mayor

This was once again another attempt to discredit me... It has now amounted to nil.

Patricia de Lille, Cape Town Mayor

It was early February this year at the height of the time that the DA was trying to remove me. All sorts of allegations were thrown against me at that stage, hoping that they would stick.

Anthony Faul went with his so-called affidavit to the DA, instead of going to the police.

Patricia de Lille, Cape Town Mayor

I just want to move on with my life now.
