GautengShutdown: Protesters demand coloured community be included in the economy

A small group of protesters from various parts of Gauteng marched on the JSE in Sandton on Tuesday demanding the inclusion of coloured communities in the economy.

The group claims coloured South Africans are being marganilised.

Eyewitness News reporter Mia Lindeque was at the demonstration.

It was only about 20 people representing some of the communities. I recognised some of the community leaders from Ennerdale and certain leaders from Eldorado Park.

I think they are trying to keep the momentum on what they promised they are going to do and it is all leading up to what they call 'Blood Friday' which they say is going to be massive turnout.

Mia Lindeque, EWN reporter

They say predominantly coloured people have been marginalised and not included in the economy. They want what they say is their stake in the economy.
