Who is compelled to support a 'man of God' accused of rape? - Bongani Bingwa

A 22-year-old woman has told a court in graphic detail how she was groomed to perform sexual acts on Nigerian pastor Timothy Omotoso.

Cheryl Zondi was the first witness in the case against the controversial pastor who appeared in the Port Elizabeth High Court on Wednesday.

I find it extraordinary that there are still people who show up in court and defend this man as a man of God. Maybe you can explain it? I certainly can't.

Omotoso is facing 63 charges including rape, racketeering and sexual assault - alleged to have taken place in South Africa and abroad.

The bizarre thing is, he made her read Psalm 51 as an act of contrition, saying God must forgive them for what they have done.
