Cycle enthusiasts around Cape Town are invited to join a weekly mass bike ride to work in the CBD during October.
Open Streets has organised weekly #Bike2Work bike buses from Claremont, Gugulethu and Table View happening every Friday during the month.
October is Transport Month, and Open Streets is using the opportunity to encourage a greener way of commuting.
The organisation will host various activities in partnership with Pedal Power Association, Bicycle South and Bicycling Empowerment Network during October.
Western Cape Economic Opportunities MEC Alan Winde participated in the mass cycle initiative this morning.
He says riding with a cycling bus helps increase bike visibility on the roads, saves on fuel, reduces the carbon footprint and increases fitness.
