Start posting your Christmas gifts now, says post office

South African Post Office urges South Africans wanting to post parcels for the festive season to foreign destinations to do so now.

This will ensure that the parcels reach their destinations in time for festive season.

Regional Manager for SA Post Office, Pieter Swart, speaks about the process parcels go through in order to reach their destination.

Depending on the value and weight, some parcels have to be verified through custom of the destination country, says Swart.

For parcels going through airmail, they have to be posted by 1 December and for sea mail, which are dispatched in Cape Town or Durban, it has to be mailed by 31st October.
