Cheryl Zondi is testifying against Pastor Timothy Omotoso who is accused of rape and human trafficking in his Durban church.

The trial of a Durban pastor, Timothy Omotoso who is accused of rape and human trafficking in his Durban church continued at the Port Elizabeth High Court on Wednesday.

The first witness in the case, Cheryl Zondi continued giving testimony of how she was sexually assaulted for over two years by the accused.

Omotoso is a pastor of the Jesus Dominion International Church.

EWN reporter Shamiela Fisher says Zondi has been explaining to the court what she described as a "hellish time" in the house of Omotoso.

Zondi explains that the first time she was sexually assaulted by Omotoso was at his Umhlanga house when she was only 14 years and it continued for two-and-half-years.

She describes the encounters as having occurred every other day.

Fisher says the defence's focus was on the photos and videos that were taken in church when Zondi was still part of the church choir saying that she looked very happy at the time.

They've been questioning her that if she seemed happy in the photos why is she now saying that she wasn't happy.

Shamiela Fisher, EWN reporter

Her response was that she was putting up a front because she knew she had to please Omotoso and that she didn't want to attract attention or to alert anyone that something was going on. Basically, it was out of fear.
