Simon's Town puts unique twist on pedestrian crossings to honour its penguins
The seaside town of Simon's Town has paid homage to of one its most famous inhabitants with a new attraction point.
The Simon's Town penguin colony is home to the endangered African penguin and the popular Boulders Beach.
The town has created special pedestrian crossings with African Penguins painted across them, in an effort to draw in more tourism.
The African penguins appear to waddle across the quirky pedestrian crossings.
The Simon's Town Business Association says the initiative is aimed at highlighting the seaside town's uniqueness.

The association's Liesel Coetzer says the idea was inspired by Economic Opportunities MEC Alan Winde.
Coetzer says there has been a great response to the new crossings, which will hopefully also create more driver awareness that there are penguins roaming in the town.
We've had such a positive response and it's just lifted our spirits.Liesel Coetzer, Chairperson at Simon's Town Business Association
