'The investment conference was really a confidence measure'

Associate Professor at the National Research Foundation Chair on African Diplomacy and Foreign Policy at the University of Johannesburg Mzukisi Qobo says the investment summit held last week shows that there is a lot of focus on getting the country to work.

Businesses pledged R294 billion as an investment in the country.

But it's significant that they make a public announcement because that is an affirmation of confidence in the direction the country is taking.
