De Lille says we'll know on Wednesday whether she's keeping the mayoral chain
Will Patricia de Lille resign on the 31 October or not?
In a bid to clear her name, De Lille told Eusebius McKaiser that the country has to wait until tomorrow to find out what her decision is.
De Lille says her lawyers are working round the clock to file a court order to have her name cleared because she wants to be held accountable.
Nothing has confirmed the date as to when we are going to court.Patricia de Lille, City of Cape Town mayor
This is a report of Bowmans. It is just a report. I have not been found guilty. The evidence on which they base their report has not been tested. I can only be found guilty by a court of law.Patricia de Lille, City of Cape Town mayor
Because Council has adopted both conflicting reports on Thursday, now we can go to court and say which one is the right one they can use.Patricia de Lille, City of Cape Town mayor
Things got heated when McKaiser asked the Mayor if she will still be mayor by the end of the week.
Like I said yesterday, people please give me space. I am taking one day at a time, you can ask me that question again on the 31st.Patricia de Lille, City of Cape Town mayor
Of course, citizens are entitled to know. They are the ones who voted me in power. I will bring all the clarity tomorrow. It's hardly 24 hours that people have to wait.Patricia de Lille, City of Cape Town mayor
On the 31st I will definitely put all the puzzle together and I will be able to give you an honest straight answer.Patricia de Lille, City of Cape Town mayor
De Lille also took a dig at the Second Deputy Federal Chairperson in the Democratic Alliance Natasha Mazzone by saying there is nothing credible about what Mazzone says.
The mayor added that Mazzone has been wrong time and time again.
@Eusebius As much as I support & sympathize with @PatriciaDeLille , I still can't get why she can't answer a simple question: Is tomorrow your last day as Mayor? One would think she'd want to get this over and done with. Is she enjoying this undue attention? Ai Politics bathong😔— Andile Ntuli (@MrKitchenKing) October 30, 2018
@PatriciaDeLille is going to outplay @MmusiMaimane. Maimane is a political toddler. Mama Pat knows very well that she has to keep her cards close to the chest to keep the DA guessing. Mama Pat don't reveal your strategy. Fight from within and leave with a sizeable membership😂🤣— Bhele (@UncapturedBlack) October 30, 2018
