HHP remembered by fellow artists at memorial service in JHB

A memorial service has been held for the late Jabulani Tsambo, better known by his stage name HHP, who died last week.

Friends and family, as well as other local artists, paid tribute to the hip-hop heavyweight at the Newtown Music Factory in Johannesburg.

Sugar Smax and Simphiwe Dana were among those who attended the memorial.

Many battled to hold back the tears as the choir honoured Tsambo while images of him were displayed on a screen on stage.

Tsambo's long-term partner, Lerato Sengadi, said: "There will be so much said and done, but I will take those lashings with integrity and grace of a warrior queen you chose to share your throne with."

Another memorial is scheduled for Thursday in Mahikeng and then Tsambo will be laid to rest on Saturday.
