Motsoaledi says NHI to go ahead and no one can stop the process

Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi says the National Health Insurance (NHI) was endorsed by the Presidential Health Summit and it is now sitting with the President and cannot be stopped by anyone including himself.

Motsoaledi was giving a presentation on Thursday morning at Stellebosch University Business School (USB) to clarify some of the misconceptions about the NHI, as part of the University Business School Leaders Angle series.

Over the last three years, the public sector has lost over R9 billion due to various factors in the economy but the private sector, from the same fiscas, was subsidised for R11 billion and that cannot be allowed.

Motsoaledi says the plan to improve the public health system is still in place and it was revealed at the job summit how it will be implemented.

We put the definition of NHI, below it we said it will a massive reorganisation of the health care system.
