Cosatu accuses govt of thinking with their stomachs during march against e-tolls

The African National Congress (ANC) Gauteng, Cosatu and Outa are leading what it calls the People’s March to the Union Buildings in Pretoria today.

The party says the march is against e-tolls, the recent fuel hikes, increases in VAT, escalating data costs and the poor state of public transport.

Speaking to Xolani Gwala, Cosatu's Gauteng provincial secretary Dumisani Dakile says the reality is the fact that when people are outside government they are able to think properly.

But when people get in government, they think with their stomachs.

People are thinking of their salaries more than what are the resolutions and the demands of the people on the ground.

He adds that from where they are, it seems that the ANC and the Tripartite Alliance do not have control of their deployees in government.
