Managing Director at Plane Talking, Linden Burns has criticised the action taken by Lion Air following a crash of one its jets which killed all 189 people on board.
The Lion Air jet crashed just minutes after takeoff from Jakarta last week and following the incident, the company fired their technical head and several senior staff.
The company named these individuals in the process without explaining its reasons why.
Burns says the company has "painted a big bullseye target on these guy's backs".
He gives reference to the DHL cargo plane which crashed into a charter plane that was carrying school children.
The air controller on the day was named and he was later murdered by one of the parents.
I understand the pressures we have today of social media for instantaneous answers to see and post our reactions.— Linden Burns, Managing Director at Plane Talking
But we need to step aside and consider what you are doing before you put your own people in harms way, which compels the tragedy.— Linden Burns, Managing Director at Plane Talking
Burns advises that people need to wait for the investigations to be completed before they can name those involved to avoid making them targets.
