Transnet has appointed Tau Morwe as Acting Group Chief Executive.
Morwe will take over the position until 30 April 2019.
He will also serve as a member of the Transnet board.
In a statement released on Monday evening, Transnet Board chairperson Dr Popo Molefe said the appointment was approved by Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan.
The move comes a few weeks after Transnet fired its CEO Siyabonga Gama amid allegations of corruption.
Transnet board member, Professor Edward Kieswetter spoke to Karima Brown on her show, to share more details.
