Africa Investment Forum is not going to be a talk shop- Dr Akinwumi Adesina

The three-day Inaugural Africa Investment Forum kicks off in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

The African Development Bank says this won't simply be another talking shop and is promising that pen will actually be put to paper on a number of deals.

Joanne Joseph spoke to the president of the bank Dr Akinwumi Adesina about the institution's role as a development bank and what Africa should expect in the next few days.

This is a 100% transactional forum. It's not an event, it is an ongoing process.

Dr Adesina says African nations will be competing for finance and have to come up with the best environment for the kind of funding they want.

Capital does not just go anywhere, it goes its comfortable, where the policies are predictable and that is exactly what the countries are doing.

Dr Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank

Our role is to market Africa properly; is to make sure that the perception of risk is reduced significantly in Africa.
