Sandton City is fully occupied for the first time in 45 years

Sandton City, one of SA’s premier shopping malls in Africa, is now fully let for the first time in 45 years.

This is amidst the time when most shopping malls are struggling due to a recession.

The centre has reportedly spent the past three years signing up more luxury brands than any other shopping centres in the country.

COO at Liberty Two Degrees (L2D) Jonathan Sinden says Sandton City trades exceptionally well against its peers in terms of the trading matrix. It trades at about 44% above other centres.

She is an old lady, she has been around for 45 years and she has defied logic and reason as she keeps on growing and we are very excited about Sandton.

Jonathan Sinden, COO at Liberty Two Degrees (L2D)

We've gone the fintech route and we've put camera-based technology to track our customers and we've worked out what our customers need. We know our customers' demographics, we know when they come to the mall and we are answering their needs.

Jonathan Sinden, COO at Liberty Two Degrees (L2D)

We need to provide the best offering for our customers.
