Jason Rohde has been found guilty of killing his wife Susan

The Western Cape High Court has found businessman Jason Rohde guilty of the murder of his wife Susan and his attempt to stage her suicide.

The real estate executive is found guilty of killing Susan Rohde at the Spier Wine farm during a work function in July 2016.

Rohde was also found guilty of obstructing the ends of Justice.

He had claimed that she committed suicide by hanging herself with a hair iron cord, but the State has tried to prove that the victim's suicide was staged.

EWN reporter Shamiela Fisher says the judge accepted the testimonies of all the state witnesses.

She found that Jason Rohde's testimony that his wife was suicidal after learning about his extramarital affair with a co-worker, she found that his testimony was improbable.

Fisher adds that the judge said the state witness testimony was very different to that of Rohde's.
