WC Traffic Chief says there was no authorisation given for cars to be spun on a provincial road with the protection of officers.

Western Cape Traffic Chief, Kenny Africa says they were shocked by a video shared on social media showing traffic officers holding up traffic to allow motor enthusiasts to burn rubber on the N2 just outside the Peregrine Farmstall.

Africa says they will do everything in their power to get to the bottom of the incident and hold the officers responsible to account.

They will lose their jobs if found guilty.

Kenny Africa, Western Cape Traffic Chief

There is no such thing that we will issue an authorisation or permit to do these stupid things on our provincial roads. We cannot allow what these people did.

Kenny Africa, Western Cape Traffic Chief

The drivers of those vehicles will also be charged.
