Former Treasury DG reveals how he was told they would get a 'Gupta minister'

Fuzile on Wednesday revealed the discussion that he had with Enoch Godongwana who told him that they were about to get a Gupta minister with the advisors.

Speaking to Xolani Gwala, EWN reporter Clement Manyathela says Fuzile told the commission on Wednesday that on the night that Nhlanhla Nene was fired, he received a call from the ANC head of economics and transformation Enoch Godongwana who told him that he would now receive a Gupta minister with advisors.

He said he didn't understand that until Des van Rooyen came to the office at Treasury and until the day he was officiated into the position of finance minister.

When Des van Rooyen visited Treasury with those advisers, Fuzile noticed they were not familiar with each other, reports Manyathela.

He says that is what made him believe that these advisors were appointed by the Guptas.
