Coach Micho: We have invested, and football is paying us back

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Micho Sredojević says when the Bucs win it must be seen as normal. He’s attributed hard work for their success.

He says the Bucs’ win against rivals Kaizer Chiefs is a reflection of teamwork.

Justin Shonga scored the winning goal for Pirates that has sent them through to the Telkom Knockout final, beating Chiefs 2-1 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday Afternoon.

Speaking to Marc Lewis on Sports Talk, Micho says the best is yet to come.

“Whoever knows anything about football knows that it’s not easy… We need an extra mile to be mentally strong and physically fit for a motivated team.”

Asked what he has done to make sure Pirates dominates, the coach says it’s through hard work.

“I came to the team with coach Rhulani [Mokwena] and took over technical aspect… ‘Let us reclaim the pride of the badge and heal the souls of our supporters’” Sredojević said.

The Sea Robbers’ coach admits that the team is in search of perfection.

“Perfection is something we are looking at but this does not exist, only God is perfect. We are looking to streamline perfection.”
