Former Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows player, Mike Mangena has been granted R50 000 bail at the Randfontein Magistrate's Court, West of Johannesburg.
Mangena and his three co-accused, Morena Maqoaelane, William Kazipata and Kennedy Tsogolane were arrested last Wednesday and they have been charged with manufacturing illegal drugs at a property owned by Mangena.
Speaking to Xolani Gwala, EWN reporter Robinson Nqola says Mangena was granted R50 000 bail and the NPA said they didn't oppose the bail as Mangena was cooperating.
They felt that he was co-operating with the law enforcement officials and they didn't feel like he was a flight risk.— Robinson Nqola, EWN reporter
He adds that Mangena's co-accused didn't apply for bail and it is not clear whether they will apply for bail at a later stage.
