Cape Town's fifth edition of Ultra-trail promises to be an exciting one

The fifth edition of Ultra-trail Cape Town gets underway on Saturday morning with expectations high for a local victory against a powerful international line-up.

More than 1 700 runners will take part in races over 100km, 65km and 35km (and a half marathon trail run on Sunday) over some of the finest trails in the world in a celebration of the very best of outdoor adventure.

Speaking to John on the Afternoon Drive, Nic Bornman Founder and Race Director at Ultra-Trail Cape Town said the race has grown throughout the years since it started and they have been receiving positive feedback from the public.

We have quite a number of trail runners coming from all over the world part taking this year. Comparing it to cycling, trail run is really doing the best in Cape Town. People want to get off the road and have a more natural experience for their daily routine and their exercises.
