The fifth edition of Ultra-trail Cape Town gets underway on Saturday morning with expectations high for a local victory against a powerful international line-up.
More than 1 700 runners will take part in races over 100km, 65km and 35km (and a half marathon trail run on Sunday) over some of the finest trails in the world in a celebration of the very best of outdoor adventure.
Speaking to John on the Afternoon Drive, Nic Bornman Founder and Race Director at Ultra-Trail Cape Town said the race has grown throughout the years since it started and they have been receiving positive feedback from the public.
We have quite a number of trail runners coming from all over the world part taking this year. Comparing it to cycling, trail run is really doing the best in Cape Town.
