Premier David Makhura delivers his fifth political report

Premier David Makhura delivered his fifth political report at the Gauteng Provincial Legislature on Friday.

Some of the key highlights he mentioned was the importance of equal pay where women are concerned.

He also mentioned that the Gauteng economy forms part of the largest economy in the African continent.

The premier assured Gauteng residents that they will fight e-tolls.

In his speech, he said It is for this reason that they have referred this matter to the President, for a final determination on alternative options of settling the debt.

He said that he is confident that a solution will be found. Once the debt is settled, they will be able to maintain the roads without the e-toll system.

Since 1994, the premier said they have built 335 new schools, refurbished more than 10 000 classrooms, converted 1800 classrooms into ICT-enabled classrooms, built 1500 computer labs and 83 new libraries in various communities across the province.
