The New Zealand company that tested a four-day workweek has officially implemented the policy after a trial run was deemed a success.
After putting the policy on a trial basis, on 1 November, Perpetual Guardian, an estate-planning business signed off on the measure.
Andrew Barnes MD and founder of Perpetual Guardian spoke to Kieno Kammies on the Breakfast Show. He said employees will still be paid for five days of work. Workers also have the option to continue working five days if they wish, with more schedule flexibility, according to The Financial Times.
People work together in a team and the team decides who takes which day off. The game is for people to get four normal working days a week. The policy has been so successful, people are now able to handle work load better.— Andrew Barnes MD and founder of Perpetual Guardian
