The struggle stalwart was the widower of the late former Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang.

He was a member of the ANC for many years.

Speaking to Xolani Gwala, president of the ANC Veterans League Snuki Zikalala says they will remember Msimang as a soft-spoken passionate leader who was interested in the development of young people urging them to go to school.

He was responsible for ensuring African National Congress students get a proper educational support from all socialist countries and he made sure that every year there was an academic intake of ANC students to academic institutions of all socialist countries every year.
