Speaking to Bongani Bingwa, Uber's general manager for sub-Saharan Africa Alon Litz says 'dynamic prices are dynamic' and they react to supply and demand factors at that time.

He apologised to concertgoers who were charged high prices and added that credit card holders would be reimbursed and cash payers' accounts would be credited.

We have apologised and full fare amounts will be refunded and we are apologising because we made a commitment that no surge pricing will be in effect.
