Ministerial inquiry finds large irregularities at Sascoc

A final report of a ministerial inquiry to investigate the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) has been released and has found large irregularities in the organisation.

Speaking to Xolani Gwala, EWN sports reporter Carl Lewis says the report found that Sascoc exhibited intentional factionalism, dysfunctional operations and the former CEO Tubby Reddy was dishonest and unethical.

The report also accused the president Gideon Sam of running the organisation as a dictatorship.

The report recommends that there should be an overhaul of the management at Sascoc making managerial positions independent.

An audit of the organisation's finances for the past five years and a complete change in travel allowance policies was a further recommendation.
