New urban trail run promotes greenbelt between Bellville and Tygerberg

The Greater Tygerberg Partnership (GTP) is kicking off a new urban trail run to add to Cape Town's calendar.

This weekend, all runners are welcome to participate in the run which aims to promote a connection between Bellville and the Greater Tygerberg region.

The event features a five-kilometre family run and a 15 kilometre run through the greenbelt that winds its way through Bellville.

The event takes place on Sunday 9 December and is open to all runners and walkers of all experience, ages and abilities.

We have some beautiful secrets in the Bellville CBD and green spaces which very few people know about.

We're hoping this run will get people back into the public space again.

Entrance to the Bellville Urban Trail will be R60 per runner for the 5km event, and R100 per runner for the 15km event.

Each entrant is asked to bring old and unused running gear and other clothes, which will be donated to local charities to bring dignity and care to the more vulnerable in our community
